OSTÉOPATHE D.O

Osteopathy
Osteopathy is a manual therapy which views the person as a whole and aims to stimulate their self-healing mechanism. The emphasis is thus placed on the person rather than their condition. The techniques applied are mostly pain-free and act to restore the function and mobility of various tissue types (fascia, joints, muscles, organs, etc...). By guiding the body to find its balance, the osteopath seeks the health and well-being of each patient.
You do not need a medical prescription to have access to osteopathic treatment. In some cases, the patient may need to be referred to another healthcare professional for more appropriate care.

As prevention or to relieve symptoms such as:
- pain from muscles, joints or nerves (low back pain, neck pain, sciatica,...)
- tensions building up following a trauma or stress
- functional disturbance (some headaches, troubled digestion, ENT issues,...)
Pre and Post-natal
- to avoid and relieve stresses that may occur during the pregnancy (low back and pelvic pain, reflux,...)
- to help re-balance the body after delivery and during the breastfeeding period

Paediatrics
- for a check-up after birth (which does not replace the medical follow-up)
- in case of discomfort or difficulties for the new-born related to feeding and digestion, preferred posture, disturbed sleep, irritability
- to support growth and development in older children
About
I have always had an interest for alternative and complementary therapies and their holistic approach to health. I chose to pursue osteopathy as a profession due to its exclusive use of hands during treatment and its refined sense of palpation. I treat people of all ages, and I wish to help each patient take care of their body to improve their physical and mental well-being

Consultation
To bring
I ask every patient to bring along a big towel to cover the treatment couch, and a blanket/plaid (if wanted) to keep warm.
Fees
A consultation lasts 1 hour and costs 60 EUR.
To keep osteopathy accessible for the little ones, a consultation for children under 6 costs 40 EUR.
The payment occurs in cash or via your phone with a banking app.
What to wear
To facilitate the examination and ease of movement during the session, patients are usually asked to undress to their underwear. For your own comfort you may also prefer to bring light and stretchy clothes to put on for the treatment.
What is most important is for each patient to feel at ease throughout the consultation.
Healthcare refund
Osteopathic treatment is partially refunded by the "mutualités". The refund is around 10 EUR per consultation, for up 5 to 10 consultations per year.
For more information, click here.
Patients with private outpatient care insurance get a higher refund.
In Brussels there are 2 social clinics that aim to keep osteopathy affordable to all: La Perche in Saint-Gilles for adults, the Free Clinic in Ixelles for babies and children. More info here.
